Meeting minutes (10/14/2004) ---------------------------- Here are some of the points that were discussed in yesterday's meeting: 1. The forum shouldn't become a quasi-commerical activity i.e. no solociting purchases or using the forum as advertisement media 2. The HR forum in Pune has been using college at their venue. We can explore whether we can get a meeting room (with necessary meeting material) for regular meetings. 3. To keep the information following within the members, we can publish a bimonthly/monthly digest. Various people can contribute their ideas, information and experiences to it. 4. The forum needs to be properly moderated i.e. members should be selected carefully. 5. We need to take baby-steps to get this forum started. We can first encourage the existing members to speak and then invite promiment business leader to the forum 6. By-laws and constitution should be drafted carefully and implemented. 7. Focus is important and we should define the focus and result from this activity 8. It is important that we get some value from the group, so we need to invite external speakers(experts) so that the forum becomes a learning activity 9. It is important that we form synergy within ourselves, so let's first get to know each other over next 3 months 10. We should get media involved at some point to gain visibility and attract new members. 11. To get maximum value from other chapters, we need to understand the Psychology of the other chapters 12. Mailing list can be used effectively for offline discussions and experience/knowledge sharing. we should all make use of it 13. We need to keep the meetings interesting 14. Mentoring is a good idea and can be very useful to new entrepreneurs. We should explore the idea further 15. We can bring our existing issues and discuss them as a group. In short, use the forum to brainstorm existing issues and get (and give) consulting to others 16. We need to charge a nominal fee to bring seriousness to the forum and discourage unnecessary members 17. Should meet twice a month 18. Website development will commence soon. 19. We will meet every second Wednesday at 6:30 pm. The venue will be decided soon. 20. Offline discussion will be started to decided future speakers
